Metaphorical Cells

A low, straight-on view of "Metaphorical Cell No. 12: Pippa, Destroyer of Monsters" displayed horizontally, resting on a cream surface. The sewing needles pierce the outer edge of the circular embroidered textile and extend downward at outward-splaying angles, forming a ring of slender legs that elevate the piece above the surface like a low table or the body of a water-striding insect. The underside of the piece and the shadows cast by the needle legs are visible, with fine thread lines radiating outward across the surface below. Only a narrow strip of the embroidered textile edge is visible, showing hints of yellow-green and teal thread.
